PROGRAM NOTES
It was an honor to be asked to compose something for bass baritone Dean Elzinga, and a serendipitous delight to have him in New York to premier the results in February of 2010 at a showcase concert given on my behalf by New Music New York. Ultimately, the choice of three separate poets for the texts was connected to the music that Dean’s vocal talents inspired in me.
